Which Kaminski sun hat is your favorite? I'm not sure, but I think The Marsella Raffia Summer Hat is vying as mine in this year's line of women's hats from Helen Kaminski. It's a classic sun hat, like the Melinda, with a very broad brim (at five inches) to shade a lady's delicate skin. This particular hand woven raffia sun hat, though, is done in a cote d'azur stripe so breathtaking that I nearly cry for joy every time I see it. (I'm sensitive that way.) Because raffia keeps its shape and stays supple over time, it's a travel-friendly material for those of you lovely ladies forever on the go. Imported.
Kaminski Raffia Bag
Call it a tote, a ladies handbag, a purse or a hunk a burnin' love. Well, maybe not that last one, but you're sure to love the relaxed sophistication of this inspired raffia and leather bag from Helen Kaminski. The fiber weave is offered here in bark, and the chestnut leather handle has an easy-to-carry length of 9.5 inches. I thought it interesting that Helen Kaminski never uses straw in her product line and is extremely particular as to the quality of the palm leaves used in her hand woven hats and bags. Seems that the resin found in superior raffia keeps the fiber pliant unlike the more brittle texture of straw.
